INSTALLATION OF “REMOTE CONTROL”
A special remote control makes it possible to control the Chofu Propane gas heater also from inside the house or from a distance. The remote control can be installed for a “wall thickness” between 110-180 mm.
Installation of remote control
  1. Drill a hole, 35 mm, in the part where the control is going to be placed. The part can for example be 2 planks, 50x150mm, screwed together. Use a drill for wood that is long enough, and the hole must be as straight as possible.
  2. Remove the squared metal pipe (1) and the white plastic nut (2) as well as the metal bottom plate (3). The bottom plate seal (4) must be pushed through the larger squared seal (5) and must be removed from the threaded plastic axle (9). Please note that these parts must later be reassembled in reverse order.
  3. Remove the protection paper from the larger seal (5), which is facing the main plate (6), where the handle (7) is located. Press the seal towards the main plate. Then remove the other protection paper.
  4. The cables (8), which will be later connected to the gas heater, and the plastic axle (9) are pushed through the drilled hole.
  5. Remove the protection paper from the seal (4) for the bottom plate (3) and fasten the seal to this bottom plate. Attach the bottom plate to the white pipe (10) and screw everything together with the white nut (1). Make sure that the white cables also go through the seal and the bottom plate.
  6. Attach the bottom plate (3) with the 3 wooden screws included.

Heater connection

A special wire must be connected between the remote control and heater to be able to operate the heater.
  1. Remove the front plate (where the gas connection is located) that is attached by 2 screws.
  2. Disconnect the 2 blue cables (O). Remove the screw (G) that keeps the gas burner in place. Raise the burner slightly at the back and then carefully pull it out.
  3. Remove the cover plate (T) on the left (fastened with 1 screw) where the wire and white cables (M) from the remote control go through.
  4. Connect the black wire (V), with the “turn cassette”, to the ignition device. Remove the black O-ring from the brass axle and connect the wire (V) with the larger hole to the axle. Please check that the two circles on the wire are turned upwards and that the axle is in the position as shown in the middle picture below. There is a circle on both the plastic part and on the metal part that should face each other. Use the 2 brass coloured screws (R) that are included, to fasten the wire.
  5. The rectangular blank “handle” is attached to the brass axle and locked with the O-ring.
  6. The white cables (M) from the remote control are connected to the “connection rib”. The red cable is connected to the yellow colour and the grey cable to the copper wire.
  7. Attach the cables (O),the left cover plate (T) and the front plate.
  8. The “turn cassette” at the end of the wire is connected to the axle on the remote control, the handle of which should be set at 1 (ignition).
  9. Attach the black cover (11) over the bottom plate (3).
  10. The heater is now ready for use after the gas bottle with a 30 mbar regulator has been connected.
